Really Old Cars

Ok, so it has been a while since I have written anything. We have been crazy busy over the last month. We had our Disciple Now weekend which was amazing. Since then we have been hanging out with family and friends, working in our garden, and just staying pretty busy.

This weekend we are going on an annual car trip/tour with my family. My dad's side of the family collects and restores antique cars. My dad and his brother got their first car, a 1928 Model A, when my dad was 13 (picture on the left). He still has this car, and up until last year it was the only one that he had. Between my dad, uncles, and grandfather our family has 6 1/2 cars (one is being built from scratch and can't really count as a whole car). Austin and I even used one of the cars for our getaway car after our wedding.

Every year since I was really little we have gone on the Social Security Tour. It usually lasts Friday through Sunday with Saturday being the main day of the tour. The tour is usually somewhere in Georgia, this year it is in Madison. For several years it was in Rome, Georgia which was how I first heard about Berry College. We usually drive around 150 miles on Saturday stopping at different places along the way. Last year my dad got a second car, a 1913 Model T, so on the tour last year Austin drove the Model A.

It is always a fun weekend, and great time to hang out with my family. This year we won't be able to stay for the whole weekend so we aren't driving, but it will still be a lot of fun to ride along. People are always so amazed when they see 50-100 really old cars driving around their town for the weekend.
